Thespians sought for Shakespeare festival
Actors are being sought for Project X Theatre Productions’ X-Fest Shakespeare festival.
Project X needs actors of various ages for the festival, which will feature the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet: Prince of Denmark (directed by Samantha MacDonald) and the Tom Stoppard comedy Rosencratz & Guildenstren Are Dead (directed by Amy Baskin).
The festival runs from July 23 to Aug. 8 in Prince Charles Park in downtown Kamloops.
Auditions will take place at the Pavilion Theatre, 1025 Lorne St., on March 29 at 2 p.m. and on March 30 at 7 p.m.
All actors are required to memorize one monologue from each show for which they are auditioning (scripts posted online at projectxtheatre.ca/upcoming.htm) and be prepared to present (not memorized) another.
Actors will be hired for an eight-week contract, with full- and part-time positions available.
Auditions will also be held at the Roundhouse in Vancouver on April 4.
